Fur Felt Workshop

In this two-day workshop, students will learn the traditional millinery techniques used to block and finish a fur felt hat. Choose from a variety of classic styles including a fedora, cloche, brimmed hat, bucket hat, fascinator, and more to create a hat using medium-weight velour fur felt.

Saturday:
The morning will focus on blocking your fur felt hat body over one of our vintage wood hat blocks. In the afternoon, students will explore a variety of techniques for finishing and shaping the brim.

Sunday:
Students will learn how to create and sew in a traditional grosgrain sweatband. The day will finish with adding decorative trims and personal details to complete your hat.

This workshop is suitable for both first-time students and experienced milliners looking to expand their skills. Hand-sewing experience is helpful but not required.

There will be a one-hour lunch break each day.
